While we were in Minnesota, Miriam turned 4 months old! We had her 4 month well baby visit (late, since we were gone) and she weighs 15 pounds, 5 ounces (80th percentile) and is 25.5 inches long (85th percentile).
She has rolled over several times (belly to back), and is close to rolling over from her back to her belly. She has great head control and although she doesn't love "tummy time" for extended amounts of time, she is constantly swiveling her head to observe things around her. She giggles often, and still continues to give us huge grins every day. She has strong legs and loves to "stand" on us, looking around. She can easily grab things with her hands now, and deliberately moves them to her mouth. (And it doesn't matter what it is - she tried to put my boarding pass in her mouth at the airport!) She uses her legs to scoot around a lot when she is lying on her back, and has recently discovered her toes and started grabbing them. She still likes to look in the mirror and watch the "other" baby there. She talks a lot, and is really using a range of sounds (and volume levels!) when talking to people, or even just when talking to herself.
We are so lucky to have such an amazing baby. The past couple weeks of traveling could have been much more difficult, but she is so easygoing (can you guess where she gets that from?!?) and loves to watch whatever is going on that we can pretty much take her anywhere, which is nice for visiting family or going out and spending family time ourselves.
Here's our precious 4 month old baby girl:
