Happy May! We have been so busy these past few weeks that it is hard to believe it is already May and just a few weeks until the school year is finished.
In Tacoma house news, we spent most of April fixing up some cosmetic things around the house, decluttering and rearranging, and getting ready to put the house on the market. We put the house on the market on May 1, got some offers within the first week, and are now officially under contract to sell the house! The time we put in to get the house ready was busy and stressful (especially with 2 little kids trying to "help"!), but well worth it since we'll be closing in just 3 weeks!
In Eugene house news, Mario has found a rental house where he stays during the week while he is working in Eugene. He drives home on the weekends and we get to spend some great family time together, now that there aren't any more house projects to do! We are also looking for a house to purchase in Eugene; Mario has been touring some houses these past few weeks and has found several that we are going to look at again when I travel down there next week. I've also been doing a lot of research and reading about the schools, school systems and neighborhoods, so I feel like I'm starting to know Eugene well enough, at least on paper!
In other news, the kids are wonderful. I attended a "Mother's Tea" at Miriam's school today; her class sang songs, gave us presents, and had lunch for us. I loved it and teared up several times; she's getting so big and social and grown up! Mathias is doing well - picking up more and more words, jumping all over the place (and getting both feet off the ground!), and taking every opportunity he can to get wet and dirty (literally - he'll sneak away with his stool to turn on faucets, and run to puddles to sit in them as soon as he spots them). They both keep us busy and on our toes, but they are such fun ages and are enjoying playing together more often than not.
We haven't taken a lot of pictures lately, but here are the ones we have taken:
| Miriam decorated Mario's cake for his birthday (way back in April!) |
| Matching slippers! |
| They both love to read! |
| He went through a phase of only wanting to wear Miriam's pink winter boots!! |
| Mother's tea! |
| My beautiful peonies - they've taken 3 years to get to this point, and then we are moving! I'm definitely going to plant more at our new house! |
