It has been an experience this year to find a new pumpkin patch. We have a farm we go to pretty regularly for produce, etc., and we'd been told by some friends in the area that they do a huge pumpkin patch/corn maze/apple festival/fall food celebration all of October. We were warned that it can get pretty crazy on the weekends, but luckily our kids get up extra early (lucky, isn't it?!?) so we were able to beat the crowds. It was a perfect fall morning, chilly and with lots of fog/mist. We were the only people at the pumpkin patch, and on the way back out to the parking lot, we stopped and let the kids ride the "cow train." It was funny because Mathias really, really wanted to go on the ride, but once it got going he was hanging on to the sides of his car, and by the time he got to the end, he was saying "all done!" and "out!" Miriam was loving it though, and we could hear her laughing and shrieking throughout the whole ride.
The weather is finally starting to cool down here; 60s during the day and 40s during the night. The leaves are changing colors and starting to fall to the ground, and the kids love running and riding through the "crunchies."
