October...already?!?

I'm taking full advantage of Miriam's morning nap to catch up around the house and upload pictures, since I rarely have time to get on my computer during the week.  Working full time and spending every other minute with Miriam and Mario doesn't leave a lot of time for browsing the internet.  Luckily I can check email on my phone, so I can go days without actually using my computer!

Miriam is going to be 7 months old this month, and she is growing and changing so much!  She's officially outgrown most of her 3-6 month clothes (including her pajamas, which I squeezed her into at least once, out of principle) and is comfortable in her 6-9 month clothes.  For some reason her bodysuits (onesies) run a bit larger, so we are still having her wear 3-6 month in those.  She's got quite a collection of outerwear (better than mine!) and it has been fun to get those out.  It has been quite a challenge though, to dress her for weather that starts at 45-50 degrees in the morning and turns into 75-80 degrees in the afternoon.  Lots of layering is the key!

Miriam is really at an age where she is starting to love all of her toys, and she likes to have them all piled around her.  She loves to sit on the floor (or the bed, or the couch...) and pull all of her toys out of her baskets and pile them around her.  Then, she plays with them from there.  If we put the toys back in the basket, she starts to take them out immediately.  I think that is her favorite part!

She still is in love with Bella (our cat) and screams with excitement whenever Bella is in sight.  This, of course, causes Bella to run away, although she eventually comes back out from hiding, at which point Miriam starts shrieking with excitement again.  We repeat this about a hundred times each day.  :)

Things are very busy with Mario and me at work.  Mario found out he passed his 3rd CPA test (YAY!! Isn't he amazing?!?) and just has one more test, which he is planning on taking in November.  I've got 29 students in my class and we've been promised another 2nd grade teacher, so we are waiting for that person to be hired so our class sizes can decrease.  It is hard to squeeze 29 students into a room - I've got no more space for desks, and we can barely walk around when they are all in the classroom!

Miriam's Auntie Katie is flying in tomorrow to stay with us for a couple weeks, and we are very excited.  I'm sure we will have some funny stories to share and lots of pictures, courtesy of Katie, after her visit.  She says that Miriam is only going to get to ride on "Auntie Bus Lines" instead of "Auntie Airlines" because Miriam weighs so much now, but Mario and I know differently.  Once Miriam turns those sweet eyes and beautiful smile on you, you can't resist her...so I'm sure some Auntie Airlines will be happening when she is here.  ;)

Here are some pictures of Miriam from recent weeks.  If you aren't sure what she is doing on the fan and the shower curtain, google "planking" and you'll see.  Mario wanted to imitate something he'd seen, so we did "baby planking".

"I love riding on Daddy's shoulders!"

"Do you think he knows I've been licking his head?  I shouldn't do that anymore...it is kind of prickly."

"Just let me down a little closer, so I can grab you!"

"You aren't truly jumperoo-ing unless you do the leg tuck, obviously."

"Isn't this thing great?!?"

"Yeah, I know. You wish you had one of these comfy outfits too."
"Mama, look what Daddy lets me do!  He lets me have all the fun. HA!"

"This planking stuff is hard work."
