Guess who is TWO months old!

It can't be our adorable baby girl, can it?  She was just born yesterday!  But yes, Miriam Ruth, our laughing, cooing, energetic, smiley, observant baby girl is TWO months old already!  These two months have flown by amazingly quickly, even more so considering how little sleep we've been getting!  ;)  In all fairness to our sweetie bug though, she has gotten onto a great little schedule and actually lets us each get 6-8 hours of sleep a night.  (Not consecutive yet though...we are working on it.)

We had her two month well baby visit today, and she is doing very well.  She is 23" long (80th percentile) and 11 lbs. 13 oz. (75th percentile).  She is smiling, cooing, moving her hands around and even starting to grab things, all good developmental milestones.  She had two shots today and handled it like a champ; she only cried/screamed a little bit but calmed down before we left the doctor's office.  Now she is fighting taking a nap, because there is always so much going on and she doesn't want to sleep and miss any of it! ;)

Every time I sit down to write these blog posts, I feel a bit repetitive, because I always find myself gushing about our sweet baby girl.  However, she is the center of our world these days and, well, every little thing she does is just darn cute!

She is continuing to become more vocal, and has had some times where we say she is "yelling" because her noises are so loud and forceful!  She has recently begun to put herself to sleep (with the help of her sleep sheep and a pacifier), and sleeps in her crib all night and for some of her naptime during the day.  She loves the musical mobile above her crib and can stare at it and listen to it for a long time.  (However, it isn't battery operated, so we have to frequently wind it up to keep her interested!)

Now that the weather is getting nicer, we've been able to delve a little bit deeper into her (very well stocked) closet.  She has a lot of very adorable spring clothes, and it is nice she can wear short sleeves and go without socks on some days!

It is slowly becoming apparent (or maybe I'm just slow to realize it) that Miriam is a daddy's girl.  She gives her biggest smiles to him, and he can calm her down the easiest when she is fussy.  She gets extremely excited when he spends playtime with her, and just stares at him and smiles and talks excitedly.  It melts my heart to see how fabulous he is with her, and sometimes I just watch the two of them together, thinking how lucky I am to have such a wonderful husband and daughter.

Miriam and I attended our first "Mom and Baby" yoga class yesterday.  It was a lot of fun, and I think she really enjoyed it!  She was the youngest baby in the class by about 2 months, but was just as talkative as the other babies.  She lay on her yoga "mat" (blanket) and stared at the instructor for the first 30 minutes.  She spent about 15 minutes of the class talking and yelling, making her presence known.  She did start to get fussy the last 15 minutes of class, but the nice thing about it being a "mom and baby" class is that I don't feel pressure to keep her quiet so she doesn't disturb others, as I might in a restaurant or a store.  She fell asleep shortly before the class ended, but woke right back up when we got home and saw Mario.  I'm looking forward to going back to the yoga class next week!

And now, of course, what you've been waiting for...more pictures of Miriam!  We still aren't able to capture a lot of her smiles on camera, but we think she is adorable even when she isn't smiling. Enjoy!
